ALLIANCE FRANCAISE AIX-MARSEILLE PROVENCE TAKES PART IN INTEGRATION WEEK

The Alliance Française Aix-Marseille Provence took part in the Bouches-du-Rhône integration week for new arrivals from October 16 to October 20, 2023.

As part of the agreements signed with the Direction Départementale de l’emploi, du travail et des solidarités for the Budget opérationnel de programme (BOP) 104 aimed at supporting integration actions for newcomer foreigners, the Alliance Française Aix-Marseille Provence provides free French courses to promote the professional integration of beneficiaries.

Indeed, language remains one of the main barriers to professional integration for newcomers. Along with housing and employment, French as a foreign language was one of the major issues discussed at the event. In particular, we had the opportunity to discuss these issues at the Integration Day organized by Envergure on Friday October 20, 2023 at their premises in Marseille.

Since September 19, 2023, our school has been offering free French courses to Temporary Protection Beneficiaries of Ukrainian origin. Thirty learners benefit from free, state-funded A2 and B1 courses at our two centers in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille. At the end of their training in December 2023, they will be able to take an official DELF diploma.

We were invited by Envergure to a convivial breakfast on Tuesday October 17, 2023 in Marseille to present the socio-professional integration program financed by the Bouches du Rhône DDETS: Aller Vers et Accompagner les Bénéficiaires de la Protection Temporaire Ukrainiens. During the event, we had the opportunity to meet the various players involved in the integration of Ukrainian refugees, as well as the beneficiaries of this scheme, some of whom are taking courses at the Alliance Française Aix-Marseille Provence.

In November 2023, courses for new arrivals, including Beneficiaries of International Protection (BPI) and Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BPT), will also begin, giving 30 beneficiaries the opportunity to take A2, B1 or B2 courses at our school until June 2024.

We are particularly pleased to be part of this language program, which reflects the values of the Alliances Françaises network: respect for cultural diversity, a passion for exchange, solidarity and associative values.
