French courses

Learn French in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence :

L’Alliance Française Aix Marseille Provence  offers group courses, one-to-one lessons and courses for professionals all year long, from level A1 to level C1.

Our approach is founded on learning French by tasks defined by The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR table is downloadable) and takes place in a cross-cultural dimension. Using authentic material our method is based on observation, thought and reasoning followed–up by a communicative task using the grammar and vocabulary dealt with in the lesson.

The lessons take place at our centre in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, each classroom is equipped with air-conditioning, interactive whiteboards and free WIFI access. The number of students in class is not more than 17.

Evaluation, student follow-up, and tutorship

Needs analysis, diagnostic assessment

Upon arrival, a level test followed by an interview and a needs analysis are carried out to determine the level, needs and expectations of each student

Continous assessment

The assessment occurs several times during the course and there is constant communication with the pedagogic tutor. All along the learning process you will carry out assessments of your language aptitude in the form of self-assessment or end of course tests.

Student follow-up

At any time, you can make an appointment with the Pedagogic Manager to have a language appraisal. In order to have the best follow-up possible, you have a personnal record book. It includes work done during the lesson, corrected work, self-assessments and the end of course reports. In case of difficulty, extra help is available.

End of training assessment

At the end of the course an assessment based on the four skills allows you to measure the progress made and test your language aptitude according to the level scale defined by The Council of Europe. At the end of the course a level certificate is awarded to each student.
