How to register

Registration closes one week before the exam.

Presentation of the exam

By placing candidates on one of the six levels of the Council of Europe, the T.C.F. determines if a person has a sufficient level of French proficiency to enter a French university or to enter the French-speaking professional world.

In our center, this exam is offered on computer only, the mastery of the computer is mandatory (the mouse to answer quickly to the MCQs and the keyboard to write texts – attention no spell checker authorized). This is an exam for people who use computers on a daily basis. If you take the test and you are not computer literate, we cannot help you or reimburse you. This exam takes place in our premises, we lend you a computer.

Tests

Compulsory test (1h30)

  • Oral comprehension
  • Written comprehension
  • Mastery of language structures 

 Optional test

  • Written expression (60mn)
  • Oral expression (15mn) 

Documents to be provided at registration

  • Your ID 
  • 1 passport photo (only if you take all the tests)
  • If you have a disability and need special arrangements to take your TCF Tout Public tests, you must inform us of this when you register and provide us with a medical certificate. We will forward your request to FEI, the decision of accommodation is theirs.

Fees

Please note: no refunds will be possible once the session has been validated with FEI. It is impossible to register for a TCF exam session if you have already taken one less than 30 days ago. If you buy the exam, you will not be able to take it and we will not be able to refund you.

How to prepare ? 

The TV5 monde website offers a series of activities (oral comprehension, language structure, written comprehension) to help you prepare for the T.C.F. exams. To access them, click here. 

Additional information 

  • You will receive an invitation from us approximately 7 days before the exam date. 
  • The results will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks after the exam
  • You can take the “TCF Tout Public” as many times as you like. You must, however, wait one month between each test.
